Comparison Review

Comfort
Due to its greater head- and legroom, passengers in the extended cab will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Ford F-250 than in the Ford Ranger. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between the Ford Ranger and the Ford F-250.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). Clearly, the Ford Ranger is a better financial choice over the Ford F-250, when considering MSRP. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Ford Ranger carries a much lower Destination Charge than the Ford F-250.

Dimensions
Since the Ford Ranger is much slimmer than the Ford F-250, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. If you go with the Ford Ranger, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the Ford F-250.

Drivetrain
The Ford Ranger offers much less torque than the Ford F-250, which generally means that it won't feel as fast or powerful.

Handling
The Ford Ranger has a significantly smaller turning radius than the Ford F-250, allowing you to more easily maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
In terms of towing capacity, the Ford F-250 is clearly the choice over the Ford Ranger for pulling heavy loads. When it comes to horsepower, the Ford Ranger is clearly outclassed by the Ford F-250.

Utility
The Ford Ranger has less seating than the Ford F-250, making the Ford F-250 the better choice if you often have passengers. The Ford F-250 has a lot more cargo capacity for hauling lumber or gardening supplies than the Ford Ranger.

Warranty
The Ford Ranger comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Ford F-250.
