2025 Nissan Versa Overview

The front-wheel-drive, five-seat Versa is Nissan’s entry-level subcompact sedan. It’s powered by a 122-horsepower, 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that works with a five-speed manual or continuously variable automatic transmission. Three trim levels are available — S, SV and SR. With the discontinuation of the Mitsubishi Mirage after the 2024 model year, the Versa is the only subcompact car still on sale in the U.S. It competes with budget-focused, front-drive-only subcompact vehicles like the Chevrolet Trax, Hyundai Venue and Kia Soul.

Should I Buy the 2025 Nissan Versa?
If you’re in the market for a subcompact sedan, the Nissan Versa is now the only game in town — and it’s likely that 2025 will be the Versa’s swan-song year. The Versa is budget-grade transportation to be sure, but it delivers a better all-around driving experience — and a higher level of standard and available features — than you might expect given its bargain-basement pricing. Its four-cylinder engine is weak, however, and its ride can get choppy on rough roads.
