2010 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder Overview

For fast, affordable, fun-in-the-sun driving with the comfort of an unbeatable warranty, there is the 2010 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder.

Powering the Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder is a 162-horsepower, 2.4-liter four-cylinder, mated to a four-speed automatic, or an optional 265-horsepower, 3.8-liter V-6 with a five-speed shiftable automatic transmission. That power rating far exceeds the six-cylinder offerings from Ford’s Mustang and Lexus’s IS 250. The Eclipse Spyder achieves 16-19 mpg in the city and 24-26 on the highway. This delectable powertrain is covered by a 10-year, 100,000-mile warranty, which far exceeds what is offered for the Ford Mustang and Nissan 370Z.

Interior room is highlighted by 27.8 inches of rear legroom, which completely demolishes the Nissan 370Z convertible (which does not have rear seats) as well as the Lexus IS 250 convertible. A power-retractable convertible top with glass rear window opens to display cloth seats, remote power door locks, air conditioning, a leather wrapped steering wheel, a rockin’ Rockford Fosgate sound system with 650 watts of power and Sirius Satellite Radio. A rearview camera is also standard equipment on the base model. The GT model, which comes with the V-6 engine, includes leather seats.

Antilock brakes, with traction and stability control systems, help the driver avoid all possible accidents. Dual front and front-side airbags cushion front occupants in a collision and a sturdy chassis handles the rest of the protection. No crash test ratings are available for the Eclipse in either coupe or convertible trim for the 2009 or 2010 model years.

Slide in, buckle your seat belt, turn the key and hold on – you’re gonna have fun, fun, fun ‘til your daddy takes the Eclipse away. The 2010 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder is ready for your trip to the beach or your favorite twisting mountain highway.
