First Benz

The GLS is a nice and welcome addition to our lineup. The 3 rows are big enough for everyone... came from a QX60... and this third row is definitely made for adults. The features and amenities are nice with unexpected surprises mixed in.

New/Notable

The 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 is the flagship luxury SUV in the lineup. By renaming the GL to the GLS, Mercedes is signifying that the GLS-Class is the “S-Class of SUVs.” It competes with Audi Q7, BMW X6, and Lexus LX 570.

Available features include active LED headlights, illuminated running boards, a panoramic moonroof, a trailer hitch receiver, and larger 20-inch alloy wheels.

Under the Hood
The GLS 450 is powered by a standard 369-hp, twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine mated to a new 9-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive (AWD). Fuel efficiency for the GLS 450 is an EPA-estimated 17/21 mpg city/highway.

Interior
Inside, the GLS 450 has a luxurious 7-passenger cabin with a 60/40 split-folding second-row seat and a 50/50 split-folding third-row seat. The second- and third-row seats can fold down for a maximum cargo capacity of 93.8 cubic feet. The standard COMAND center console features a new 8-inch color display, Bluetooth connectivity for phone and audio, and an optional navigation system. Mercedes is also offering free 5-year service of mbrace Connect, which includes iPhone/Android remote vehicle controls, internet access for information and notifications, local search to places of interest, speed alert, roadside assistance, valet protection, and other features. Other standard features include power/heated front seats, three-zone automatic climate control, remote keyless entry, and push-button start. Leather upholstery, heated/cooled front cup holders, ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, a memory seat, a cabin-air purification system, a rear seat entertainment system with dual-display screens, and a Bang
