Mercedes-Benz’s first electric G-Class is making its way to market, but when it arrives, it won’t be the only electrified G-Wagen coming to our roads. Another first for the U.S. market will join it in the form of a six-cylinder G. Refreshed for the 2025 model year, the G550 is now powered by a mild-hybrid version of Mercedes’ turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six-cylinder engine. Buyers who aren’t ready to accept fewer than eight cylinders in their turbocharged middle finger to conservation, however, will still find a twin-huffed 4.0-liter V-8 under the flat hood of the AMG G63.
