After an impressive debut in 2009, the 2010 Lincoln MKS keeps its discrete and subtle elegance and features an all-new, more powerful engine that is sure to give the competitors a run for their money.
Last year, the MKS hit the streets with a 270-horsepower, 3.7-liter V-6 engine with SelectShift®. This year, the 2010 MKS ups the ante with the new EcoBoost 355-horsepower, twin-turbocharged, 3.5-liter V-6 with direct injection. What that means is that you get the power of a V-8, but with the fuel economy of a V-6. Both engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and have available front- or all-wheel drive. When it comes to fuel economy, the MKS gets a modest 15-17 mpg in the city and 23-24 mpg on the highway. The 2010 Lincoln MKS boasts more power and comparable fuel economy at a lower price than the Acura RL, Infiniti M and Cadillac STS.
Based on the Ford Taurus platform, the MKS features more interior head room and space for all passengers to sit comfortably. In its attempt to become synonymous with refinement, the MKS features an interior flush with leather. The double-wing grille is reminiscent of the 1941 Lincoln Continental giving a modern touch to classic design.
The 2010 Lincoln MKS comes equipped with heated 12-way power front bucket seats,18-inch wheels, audio input jack, dual-zone temperature control, Audiophile in-dash 6-disc CD changer, MP3 capability, eight speakers, SIRIUS Satellite Radio and a THX II certified audio system as standard features. The SecuriCode™ Keyless Entry Keypad is invisible unless activated when heat is detected. The updated SYNC™ Communications and Entertainment System uses voice commands to access your music collection by genre, album, artist or song title and operate your Bluetooth®. SYNC™ also includes traffic, directions and information services.
Lincoln takes safety seriously with AdvanceTrac® with electric stability control, four-wheel-disc brakes, six airbags; dual front airbags, side-impact airbags and side curtain airbags that stay inflated longer during a rollover. An anti-theft perimeter alarm, Belt-Minder system and S.O.S. post-crash alert system lead the charge in innovative safety features. The MyKey™ feature comes standard and allows you to limit top speed, the volume of the car stereo, and add extra seat belt warnings.
With all of the standard features, increased power and improved safety features, the 2010 Lincoln MKS is a game-changer in the luxury sedan segment.
