The 2023 Honda Civic comes as either a four-door sedan or a five-door hatchback. Last year, it was redesigned with more mature styling over its predecessor. Inside, standard features include a 7.0-inch touchscreen multimedia system, automatic climate control, Apple CarPlay / Android Auto compatibility, Bluetooth connectivity for phone and audio, a front USB charging port, and push-button start.
Both the sedan and the hatchback have three trim levels, but varying degrees of features. The sedan has Sport, EX, and Touring trims, while the hatchback has Sport, EX-L, and Sport Touring trims.
The 11th-generation Civic has two engine options: a standard 158-hp, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and a more powerful 180-hp, turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder. Both engines are mated to a continuously variable transmission. A six-speed manual transmission is only available for the Sport and Sport Touring hatchback trims.
Standard safety features include adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and a backup camera.
