Very unreliable van

by ngee from atlanta | November 20, 2019

The whole underneath, hall bearing, stearing breaks everytime. Highly unreliable. Will not advise anyone to purchase this van. We work on this vehicle almost every day and it has less than 40,00 mileage when I purchased it

Great driving van

by JHAWK from Mpls MN | September 17, 2019

This is a surprisingly great vehicle to drive. The plastic trim parts are poorly executed and rattle, but it can't be beat for drivability. It's also much cheaper to service than my prior Mercedes Sprinter

Reliable van with a V6 gas engine

by Herbert from Fort Worth | July 27, 2019

Great option for a big family or church with tones of room in the back. Can easily fit in a third row seat in the back

The 2017 Ford Transit is a versatile, full-size commercial van that has numerous configurations and applications. It is available in cargo van and wagon versions, in three body lengths, three heights, and two wheelbases. It has a maximum payload/towing capacity of 4,560/7,500 pounds. This year, the Transit gains a walk-through center console and a wider power running board as available options. Also, the base audio system now includes 4 speakers with a tweeter and a woofer.

Two trims are available for the Transit Wagon: the XL and XLT. The Transit Van has optional chassis cab and cutaway body styles for commercial use.

The Transit can be configured for more cargo or more passenger room. Low, medium, and high roof heights are available, as well as regular, long, and extended body lengths. The regular wheelbase measures at 130 inches, while the long wheelbase measures at 148 inches. Dual sliding doors are available for medium and high-roof vans. Swing-out rear doors and power side mirrors come standard.

The Transit comes with a standard 275-hp, 3.7-liter V-6 engine. A 310-hp, twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 and a 185-hp, turbo-diesel 3.2-liter 5-cylinder are also available. All engines are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive.

Inside, the Transit can be equipped with the SYNC 3 Communications and Entertainment System, which includes a touchscreen, apps, satellite radio, navigation, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility, Bluetooth connectivity for phone and audio, and voice control. Cruise control, power front seats, LED interior lighting, and additional storage containers are also available. Remote keyless entry, a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, air conditioning, and power windows come standard. Maximum cargo capacity for the Transit is 487.3 cubic feet. The high-roof Transit Van has an interior cargo height of 81.5 inches. The Transit Wagon can seat up to 15 passengers across five rows.

Standard safety features include front airbags, antilock brakes, an electronic stability system, and a tire-pressure monitoring system. The optional MyKey system alerts the driver when a preset vehicle speed and stereo volume are surpassed. Rain-sensing wipers and a backup camera are available as well.
