2021 Ford Escape Overview

The 2021 Ford Escape is one of the best-selling compact SUVs on the market. It competes with the Hyundai Tucson, Honda CR-V, and Toyota RAV4. Last year, it was redesigned with minimalist styling and revised powertrain options.

Four trims are available: S, SE, SEL, and Titanium.

The Escape has two gas-powered engine options: a base 181-hp, turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine and 250-hp, turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder. Both engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive comes standard, while four-wheel drive is available. A more fuel-efficient Escape Hybrid variant is powered by 200-hp, 2.5-liter four-cylinder and an 88-kW electric motor joined with an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission.
