2019 Ford Escape Overview

The 2019 Ford Escape is one of the best-selling compact SUVs on the market. It is also the smallest SUV in Ford’s lineup. It competes with the Mazda CX-5, Toyota RAV4, and Honda CR-V.

Four trims are available: S, SE, SEL, and Titanium.

The Escape has three engine options: a base 168-hp, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, a 179-hp, turbocharged 1.5-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder, and a 245-hp, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder. All engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive comes standard, while four-wheel drive is available.
