Vehicle Overview
The Chevrolet Tahoe seats up to nine and is available with rear- or four-wheel drive. It is similar to the GMC Yukon and more luxurious Cadillac Escalade, and all three are shorter versions of the Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon XL and Cadillac Escalade ESV. The Tahoe competes with other full-size SUVs like the Ford Expedition, Nissan Armada and Toyota Sequoia.
New for 2014
The Tahoe Hybrid has been dropped for 2014. Besides that, features from the Convenience Package are now standard, including power-adjustable pedals, remote start, rear park assist and a backup camera with a display in the rearview mirror.
Exterior
Standard models feature 17-inch wheels, with 18- or 20- inch wheels available. Heated side mirrors come standard as well. Available features include power liftgate, fog lights, power sunroof, and power-retractable running boards.
Interior
The Tahoe features comfortable seating for nine with available three-person front bench seat. Cloth upholstery comes standard with leather upholstery optional, Bluetooth connectivity and power-adjustable pedals standard as well. Additional options include Bose stereo, rear-seat DVD entertainment system, and touch-screen navigation system. Furthermore, the Tahoe has 108.9 cubic feet of cargo space.
Under the Hood
The Tahoe is powered by a 320-horsepower, 5.3-liter V-8 with 335 pounds-feet of torque with the option to run on either regular gas or E85 ethanol. Six-speed automatic transmission with rear- or four-wheel drive available. It also has a 8,500-pound maximum towing capacity. Optional features include integrated brake controller for electrically controlled trailer brake systems and locking rear differential.
Safety Features
The massive Chevrolet Tahoe is fitted with side-impact airbags for the front seats, side curtain airbags, electronic stability system, antilock brakes, trailer-sway control and hill start assist, rear park assist, and back up camera, all standard. Optional blind spot warning system available.
