It’s the best vehicle for my needs and it’s pretty

by Aunt Jenny from Syracuse Indiana | June 12, 2019

I needed a vehicle large enough to put in an electric wheelchair lift but still have enough comfortable seating so my family of 6 can go places together. It’s very pretty too drives great also.

by The "Colonel" from Ocala, Florida | November 09, 2018

We are planning a 6 month road trip from Florida to California and back. This will be the PERFECT vehicle to tow our trailer there and back.

Van to transport dogs to/from dog shows

by Donna Coffman from Lithia | October 16, 2017

This van will meet all of my needs and is easy to drive. I've always had Ford vans, but their new style is not compatible for my needs, and so I have now tried a Chevy and know I will be pleased with it.

2017 Chevrolet Express 3500 Overview

The 2017 Chevrolet Express 3500 comes as either a Cargo Van or a Passenger Van. The Express Cargo Van has regular (135 inches) and extended (155 inches) wheelbase options. The Express 3500 Passenger Van only comes with a regular wheelbase, but it has four available trims: the 1LS, 2LS, 1LT and 2LT. The Express 3500 comes with a standard 145-amp alternator but optional features include a powerful 220-amp alternator and a dual isolated battery system.
The Express 3500 is the prototypical van that maintains little ornamentation. It has a traditional, boxy design that includes dual stacked headlights, exposed black front bumpers, and high-mounted tail lights. The Cargo Van and Passenger Van feature standard 60/40 swing-out passenger-side doors and 50/50 swing-out rear cargo doors. A metal front bumper, a sliding passenger-side door, power/heated side mirrors, and a trailer hitch receiver are all optional.

All engines for the Express 3500 are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. A 285-hp, 4.8-liter V-8 engine comes standard, while a 342-hp, 6.0-liter V-8 is optional. The Cargo Van also has an available 260-hp, diesel 6.6-liter V-8 version. The Express 3500 also offers a 260-hp, turbo-diesel 6.6L V-8 engine with an impressive 525 foot pounds of torque. Fuel economy for the Express 3500 with the 4.8-liter V-8 is an EPA-estimated 11/17 mpg city/highway. Fuel economy ratings for the diesel powertrain configurations are not available at this time. The Express 3500 has a much higher maximum payload of 3413 pounds over the 2482 pounds for the 2500.

Inside, the Express 3500 has multiple interior configurations. The Cargo Van has a maximum seating capacity of 5 passengers with the rear bench optional. It also has six standard D-ring tie downs for cargo. The Passenger Van offers seating for 12 passengers across 4 rows standard. An optional OnStar 4G LTE connectivity with a Wi-Fi hotspot, which allow multiple passengers to connect to the Internet via smartphone is available. The standard AM/FM stereo in the Express 3500 models can also be upgraded to the Chevrolet MyLink multimedia system, which includes a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity for phone and audio, satellite radio, and an integrated navigation system. All models come with standard air conditioning, power windows/locks, front bucket seats, and a digital radio. Available features include power seats for the driver and passenger, rear HVAC, cruise control, remote keyless entry, and a tilt steering wheel.

Standard safety features include 6 airbags, antilock brakes, an electronic stability system, a tire pressure monitoring system. A limited-slip rear differential, a rear window defroster, and a backup camera are also available.
