Don't Overpay for Your New Chevrolet Camaro

2024 Chevrolet Camaro Overview

The 2024 Chevrolet Camaro is a retro-styled, sporty two-door coupe or convertible that can be a truly brawny muscle car. The 2024 model year will be the final year of production for the sixth generation of Chevy’s iconic performance machine, though a reimagined (and almost certainly electrified) vehicle wearing the Camaro name is expected to be unveiled soon.

For this Camaro’s last hurrah, there’s a choice of three engines: a 335-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6; a 455-hp, 6.2-liter V-8; and a 650-hp, supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 in the ultra-performance ZL1 trim. The previously available 275-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder has been discontinued. The V-6 and V-8 engines can be had with a six-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmission.

Once the Camaro exits stage left, coupled with the discontinuation of the gasoline-powered Dodge Challenger after the 2023 model year, the Ford Mustang is set to be the only remaining traditional American pony car on the market.

What’s New on the 2024 Chevrolet Camaro?
Special Camaro Collector Editions commemorate the Camaro’s swan-song season. Though specific content varies by model, the packages add distinctive trim touches inside and out, including unique body paint, stripes and Camaro Collector Edition badges. The ZL1 gets a uniquely trimmed Garage 56 Edition version (limited to just 56 units) that’s inspired by the NASCAR Cup Camaro ZL1 LeMans race car.

Should I Buy the 2024 Chevrolet Camaro?
The Camaro name is expected to live on in some capacity – probably as a performance-themed EV – but if you want a traditional Camaro powered by a gasoline engine, you’ll have to act fast. The Camaro received its last full redesign back in the 2016 model year, so it’s not what you’d call cutting-edge, and it suffers from sporty-car compromises like a terribly cramped backseat, a tiny trunk and a low roofline that compromises visibility. Nevertheless, the Camaro’s muscle-car attitude continues to appeal, and its lengthy roster of trims and optional equipment allows it to be tailored to a variety of tastes and budgets.
