After a rocky start involving a couple of high-profile recalls and a hefty price cut for model-year 2024, the Cadillac Lyriq has found its footing. It is currently the brand’s bestseller, behind only the Escalade, and after trimming the lineup for the 2024 model year, Cadillac is ballooning it from three to six trim levels, three each in the Luxury and Sport lines.
Updates to the Cadillac electric vehicle are minimal for 2025: An expanded palette of ambient lighting colors, front-passenger seat memory and an OnStar Package are now standard, while the Luxury 2 and Sport 2 trim levels add a hands-free power liftgate and rearview mirror camera. The 2025 Lyriq’s base price climbs $1,400 from 2024, to $59,990 (all prices include $1,395 destination fee).
Powertrain Specs and Range
The Lyriq is available with rear- or all-wheel drive. The rear-drive variant has a single electric motor on the rear axle that puts out 365 horsepower and 325 pounds-feet of torque, and AWD versions add a motor to the front, ratcheting total output to 515 hp and 450 pounds-feet.
Both draw power from a 102-kilowatt-hour battery pack that endows the rear-drive Lyriq with 326 miles of range, per Cadillac (official EPA-estimated range figures for the 2025 model are not yet available). AWD variants manage 319 miles, or 303 with the more powerful optional 19.2-kilowatt onboard charger. (The upside of the beefier charger is that it bumps Level 2 charge speed from about 29 miles of range per hour to 47.) On a DC fast charger, all Lyriqs can charge from “low” (Cadillac doesn’t specify exactly what that means) to 80% in about 45 minutes.
