2010 BMW 335d Overview

In its fifth year of existence, the 2010 335d is BMW’s entry-level luxury diesel sedan, comes loaded with luxurious appointments and boasts impressive fuel economy.

The 2010 BMW 3 Series consists of 328 and twin-turbo 335 models in rear-wheel and all-wheel-drive configurations (335 xDrive). The 335d is equipped with a 265-horsepower, 3.0-liter inline-six diesel engine coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission with auto-manual mode. EPA estimated fuel economy ratings are impressive at 23 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway.

Competing with the Infiniti G and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, the 2010 BMW 335d remains mostly unchanged from the previous model year, except for the addition of standard HD radio and optional automatic high-beam headlights. The 335d features an extended hood, standard xenon adaptive headlights and 17-inch alloy wheels. A Sport Package adds 18- or 19-inch wheels.

The 2010 BMW 335d seats five, and standard features include a push-button ignition and automatic climate control. The iDrive system is available with the optional navigation system, while additional options include a sunroof, active steering with speed-sensitive assist, front and rear parking assist monitors, Sirius Satellite Radio and dynamic cruise control, which applies the brakes to maintain a preset speed. The Premium Package adds leather upholstery, Bluetooth connectivity and BMW Assist telematics; the Climate Package adds heated front seats and steering wheel, retractable headlight washers and fold-down rear seats.

The 2010 BMW 335d is loaded with standard safety technologies, including side curtain airbags, side-impact airbags, antilock brakes, an electronic stability system designed to enhance brake performance and active front head restraints. In government crash tests, it received four out of five stars for frontal collision protection and five stars for side protection.
