2010 Toyota RAV4 Overview
The sporty 2010 Toyota RAV4 compact CUV was one of the first entries into the crossover utility vehicle segment and provides enough power for off-road driving and towing.
Competing with Honda CR-V and Ford Escape, the 2010 Toyota RAV4 is available in Base, Sport and upscale Limited trim levels and in front- or all-wheel-drive configurations. Two engine choices are offered, including a 179-horsepower, 2.5-liter inline-4 and 269-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6; each mated to either a four- or five-speed automatic transmission. The RAV4 is nearly as long as the Highlander but has a more powerful V-6. When properly equipped, the 2010 Toyota RAV4 can tow up to 3,500 pounds and EPA estimated fuel economy ratings top out at an impressive 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.
New for 2010, a Sport Appearance Package on two-wheel drive four-cylinder Sport models includes run-flat tires, heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals and chrome shift knob, parking brake and interior door handles. Also available on the Sport is an optional JBL audio system with hands-free Bluetooth capability and steering wheel-mounted audio controls. A backup monitor system with rearview camera is now offered on base models.
Sitting on 16-, 17- or 18-inch wheels with a spare tire mounted to the swing-out rear door, the RAV4’s grille was revised last year and standard exterior features include LED taillights and power mirrors. Options include integrated fog lights and a moonroof.
Inside, the 2010 Toyota RAV4 seats five or seven passengers, when equipped with 50/50-split flat-folding third-row seat. A reclining second-row split-bench seat slides forward and backward. Numerous comfort amenities are available, including dual-zone automatic climate control, heated seats, a navigation system and a backseat entertainment system.
Downhill Assist Control, which controls downhill speed, and Hill-Start Assist Control are standard on V-6 models and four-cylinder models with a third-row seat. Other standard safety technologies include side-impact and two-row side curtain airbags, active front head restraints and antilock brakes with brake assist. Electronic power steering optimizes handling agility, while vehicle stability control enhances handling under adverse road conditions. Daytime running lamps are optional.
The fuel-efficient 2010 Toyota RAV4 is loaded with amenities to maximize comfort and luxury, and offers two capable engines that provide respectable towing and off-road performance.

Bought new RAV4 LTD last week. When I went to pick up the car, it was noisy -- Sounds more like a Diesel engine

Great for the money

I bought this car last November (2009) and I love it. It drives and handles really well so far. Unfortunately, it didn't really snow last winter so I was unable to try it on the snow. I have the base 4 cylinder model and was very satisfied with the standard features such as cruise control, keyless entry, Stability control. The interior is spacious both front and back, particularly the big trunk space. This car provides sufficient power and is very agile that it's so fun to drive. This car offers so much for the price. It definitely is a good investment for the money.
