2008 Nissan Versa Overview
Positioned as Nissan’s next generation small car, the 2008 Nissan Versa features a ton of interior space, a healthy dose of horsepower, good fuel economy, and innovative high-tech features. Available as a 5-door hatchback or 4-door sedan, the Versa comes in two trim levels – the base model 1.8 S and the well-equipped 1.8 SL. The 1.8 liter 4-cylinder engine makes 122 horsepower, which provides decent acceleration and passing power. A tight 6-speed manual transmission is standard, with an optional 4-speed automatic on the S, and the optional Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) on SL models selects the optimum gear ratios for maximum performance and efficiency. With the CVT, the Sentra returns good fuel economy with 27 MPG city and 33 MPG highway. As the more popular shape, the hatchback boasts a nice amount of cargo volume – 50.4 cubic feet with the rear seat folded down. It also offers the most overall interior space in its class, with best-in-class rear leg room. The available 60/40 split fold-down rear seat allows the Versa to handle people or cargo with ease. Interior amenities include an available Intelligent Key keyless entry and ignition system (CVT only), allowing you to open and start the vehicle – with the key fob still in your pocket. Available Bluetooth® wireless technology offers hands-free calling at the push of a button. Available 4-wheel anti-lock brakes with Electronic Brake Force distribution and Brake Assist add additional stopping power and peace of mind in emergency situations. Standard dual front airbags, seat-mounted side airbags, and roof-mounted curtain side-impact airbags provide superior occupant protection. A standard tire pressure monitoring system offers a warning when pressure gets too low. Audio options include a premium in-dash 6-CD audio system with MP3/WMA CD playback capability, a standard auxiliary audio input for your iPod®, and an optional speaker upgrade plus a powered subwoofer that turns the cabin into a dance hall. Available XM® Satellite Radio includes 3 months of service and hundreds of commercial-free channels. As the entry level model in Nissan’s lineup, the 2008 Nissan Versa is anything but basic. It’s a well-equipped small car with a great selection of amenities and cargo options to entertain a variety of lifestyles. |
