2008 Nissan Rogue Overview
Arriving late to the compact crossover party, but showing up well-dressed, the new 2008 Nissan Rogue combines an advanced all-wheel drive system, a smooth, torquey engine, and excellent cargo capacity to make its presence immediately felt. The lightweight 2.5 liter 4-cylinder engine delivers 175 horsepower, mated to an Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission, which selects the optimum gear ratios for peak performance. Optional steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters provide rapid-fire shifting and formula-one inspired action. The advanced Intuitive All-wheel Drive system automatically sends the right amount of power to the wheels when cornering or cruising. The 4-wheel anti-lock braking system combines with Electronic Brake Force Distribution and Brake Assist to provide maximum braking power in any situation. Standard Vehicle Dynamic Control helps you stay on the path during evasive maneuvers. Standard dual front airbags, optional front side-impact airbags, and available roof-mounted side curtain airbags keep occupants safe in the event of a collision. Inside, the Rogue impresses with a long list of amenities. The optional Intelligent Key lets you open the doors or hatch and even start the engine by tapping a button on the key handle. The available Bose® audio system features an in-dash 6-CD changer and eight speakers, plus optional XM® Satellite Radio, for a rich acoustic experience. Plug into your Ipod® anytime with the auxiliary audio input jack. Convenient storage options include a rear cargo organizer under the rear cargo area, including partition nets and a rear divider to organize your belongings. A 60/40 split rear seat folds down to create a maximum cargo capacity of 56.9 cubic feet, which is midlevel for this class. The extra-large glove box is voluminous and able to accommodate small laptops. For a first-time competitor in the compact crossover segment, the 2008 Nissan Rogue is a winner. It blends an impressive array of features with flexible on-road dynamics in a spacious, stylish package. |
