2009 Hyundai Santa Fe
Price Range: $21,695 - $30,545

Handling
With their comparable turning circles, the Santa Fe and the typical SUV definitely handle about the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Hyundai Santa Fe's engine is considerably smaller than the average SUV's. Note that a smaller engine usually has to work a little harder; on the flip side, smaller engines typically get better gas mileage. Torque equals pickup, and the typical SUV will have picked up and gone by the time the Santa Fe finally gets moving. Torque is roughly equivalent to acceleration, and in this respect, the average SUV is substantially more powerful than the Hyundai Santa Fe.

Utility
Drivers with frequent kid-duty might favor the Santa Fe over the average SUV. Towing is considerably more the average SUV's forte than it is the Santa Fe's.

Convenience
The Hyundai Santa Fe's fuel tank will need to be replenished somewhat more often than the unit in the average SUV.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Hyundai Santa Fe offers a bit more head room than the average SUV, there honestly isn't much of a difference. The average SUV is not particularly more spacious for your passengers than the Santa Fe.

Dimensions
The average SUV is substantially more bulky than the Hyundai Santa Fe. The Hyundai Santa Fe's tank is roughly the same size as the average SUV's, though the average SUV's is a little bigger. The Hyundai Santa Fe and the average SUV compete for the same parking spaces.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs almost the same to get the Hyundai Santa Fe to the dealership as the average SUV. With respect to gas mileage, the Hyundai Santa Fe is a bit better than the average SUV, but not by much. The Santa Fe is tremendously less costly than the average SUV with respect to MSRP.

Warranty
The basic warranty that comes with the average SUV isn't quite as generous as the Hyundai Santa Fe's.
