One of the most legendary nameplates in musclecar history is being resurrected by Dodge this year with the 2008 Dodge Challenger. Channeling the power, style, and attitude of the original tire-smoking coupe, the new Challenger is sure to win the hearts of die hard musclecar fans and new enthusiasts alike.

Available only as the Challenger SRT8 coupe, it’s available in three body colors – Hemi Orange, Brilliant Black, and Bright Silver Metallic. It’s motivated by a massive 6.1 liter HEMI® V8 engine producing a heaping 425 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. of torque mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission with Autostick® for manumatic shifting. Expect scorching acceleration and neck-snapping off-the-line power at any speed. The Challenger comes only with rear-wheel drive, making tire-smoking launches a walk in the park. Dual exhaust, chrome tailpipes, pinstripes, and a rear lip spoiler complete the menacing look.

An independent front and rear suspension with anti-roll bars and a sport-tuned suspension setup make the Challenger a delight in the curves as well. A standard limited-slip differential creates maximum power and adhesion taking corners, while standard 20” aluminum wheels with available Goodyear® performance tires are the perfect compliment to an already rowdy package.

Safety features include massive ventilated Brembo® four-wheel disc brakes with an Anti-lock Braking system and Brake Assist for world-class stopping power and minimal fade after repeated hard stops. Standard dual front airbags, front seat-mounted side-impact airbags, and dual curtain airbags offer excellent protection in a collision. Standard Traction Control helps to prevent excessive wheelspin in slippery conditions.

Unlike its basic, barbaric musclecar ancestors, the new Challenger features a host of useful modern amenities.
