2014 BMW X6 Overview
The four-door five-seat BMW X6 comes with a turbocharged six-cylinder or V-8 engine and all-wheel drive. A high-performance X6 M with a 555-horsepower V-8 caps the lineup. Competitors include the Porsche Cayenne and Land Rover Range Rover Sport.
The X6 sits on 19-inch wheel standard, with 20-inch wheels available for upgrade. Adaptive xenon high-intensity-discharge headlights; LED headlights available come standard as well as fog lights. Rain-sensing windshield wipers, chrome exhaust tips, power moon roof and power lifgtate all standard. Additional features include sof-close doors and aluminum running boards.
The interior features four seats; available three-seat rear bench raises capacity to five, power-adjustable heated front seats; available ventilated front seats, wood trim and leather upholstery. Standard technology includes dual-zone automatic air conditioning, Bluetooth connectivity, and CD stereo with iPod connectivity. Under the Hood
A 300-hp, turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six-cylinder engine powers the xDrive35i trim, while a 400-hp, turbocharged 4.4-liter V-8 is in the xDrive50i. Eight-speed automatic transmission with shift paddles on the steering wheel, and all wheel drive come standard for these engines. The M Performance Package boosts output of xDrive35i and xDrive50i to 315 hp and 430 hp, respectively, and includes 20-inch wheels and different trim styles. Available active suspension and variable steering ratio for maneuverability at low speeds, stability at high speeds optional for upgrade.
The X6 comes with a variety of standard safety features, antilock brakes, traction control, and electronic stability system provide vehicle control, and side-impact airbags for the front seats, side curtain airbags, front active head restraints, and four-year subscription to the BMW Assist emergency communication system provides passenger safety. Backup camera and lane departure system available.
