I've been a Honda owner for 25 years and always had good

Reviewed by Dave Becker from Waterloo, Iowa January 23, 2026

I've been a Honda owner for 25 years and always had good luck. In fact, I currently own six of them. My son moved to Broken Arrow and needed some work done on his 15 year old CRV. I scheduled the appointment weeks in advance and called the week before to add a few items to the list of what needed to be worked on. When we showed up, the service advisor didn't have an appointment for us, which was a bit frustrating. They were still, however, able to get us in that day. When he finally called with estimates, he said the vehicle's entire exhaust system (behind the catalytic converter) needed to be replaced because it was rattling a bit. He also said there's a chance the catalytic converter may also need to be replaced, which would be quite a bit more. His explanation was that the hanger that holds the exhaust pipe to the vehicle had rusted, and there was no place to reweld it. This was curious to me because that vehicle has a galvanized exhaust system (like virtually every other car), but he insisted that only the muffler was galvanized, not the pipe. The quote (again, for a 15-year-old vehicle)? $1600! I thought that was excessive, so I took it to another shop. Their bill? $75 to put a new hanger on. The service department at Don Carlton is a bunch of crooks! In addition, they did not complete one item on the list. Further, they replaced a serpentine belt with less than 3,000 miles on it. That was my mistake for telling them it needed to be done (I thought the replacement was on my daughter's car), but I would think an honest shop would have at least called to confirm that's what I wanted after seeing a part that was virtually brand new (Honda recommends replacing them every 105,000 miles or 5 years, whichever comes first). My suggestion: don't go here! Fortunately, I know a fair amount about cars. Otherwise, I would have gotten screwed with my pants on!

My wife and I came in to test drive a car we had seen

Reviewed by bbeauprey66January 08, 2026

My wife and I came in to test drive a car we had seen advertised. I really had no intention of buying that day. We met and worked with Charbel. He was amazing. He was not pushy at all. He made us feel comfortable and made the whole process of buying the car stress-free. I would highly recommend both Charbel and Don Carlton Honda for your next purchase.

I brought my Honda crv for a steering issue to don

Reviewed by JeffcassodySeptember 04, 2025

I brought my Honda crv for a steering issue to don Carlton Honda. This issue is in recall for 1.7 crv vehicles currently. I paid $200 for a diagnostic on the issue. Verdict- they say I need a new rack and pinion unit after 65000miles. Cost is $4976. The part was quoted at $4200. I looked up a new part, not refurbished, new. Cost is $1500 online. That price plus $760 labor is something I would hate but would agree to pay. I feel the service department priced me out the door. No more don Carlton and likely no more Hondas. My last Toyota was flawless product.
