Unfortunately it ended up being a bad experience and feel of being cheated. I had a lease with CAL that could only be purchased by DCH at a reasonable price, so I chose to work with them for a new vehicle lease, despite not being the closest dealership or the best to work with from my perspective. The sales drill started with the claim that I had $7000 negative equity on my car lease because of excessive mileage. So from there I worked with the sales person (which I will not disclose the first name here in order not to harm his career neither the sales manager person which some comments here mentioned their name) to get a new lease deal on a CRV, that will see the monthly price paid to account for the new vehicle price and the negative equity that would come from DCH taking back and solving the end of lease with CAL (By purchasing the vehicle and selling it or returning the lease and paying the excessive mileage). Everything in the price negotiation was demonstrating my thoughts, as I even showed to the salesman what kind of deal I could have at another place like Rodo and adding the excessive mileage money I'd pay to CAL in the event I was about to return the lease myself. I was happy with the purchase until I received an invoice from CAL showing that I owed the 3 last payments of the lease plus the excessive mileage. When I contacted DCH about it, they sent me a digital copy of my signature and initials on a Lease payoff document to CAL which I dont remember having signed with these numbers (The 3 last payments for the remaining lease payments were included there despite CAL not having received it, but with the number 0 for excessive wear and excessive mileage). This would have been a flag to me obviously because the price I agreed to pay for the CRV was always in my mind and as explained to the sales person, a tradeoff to account for this end of lease "worry" and money situation. Otherwise, taking out this, I would have walked back and not purchased the vehicle there, because the deal offered (The monthly lease payment for the new CRV) was way beyond what other dealers and platforms were offering at the time of Mid January 2024.
