Danger!!! Slime ahead!

Nobody likes car dealers but these guys are the worst. I feel like I need a shower when I walk out of the place it's so slimy. I have been in this dealership twice. The first time to buy a new car. The deal was so bad I stood up and walked out. I ultimately did the same transaction with Honda of New Port Richie for over $10k less than Wesley Chapel Honda's initial offer. Two weeks ago I sold them a car and that's really the reason for this review. I was reluctant to go in based on how long it took to wash the slime off from my previous visit but it was a Honda I was selling so I figured the Honda dealer was the place to go. I put on my biohazard suit, walked in and we quickly came to agreement on price. I was hopeful but, it turns out it was all down hill from there. Issue one: They wanted me to sign over the title and give them the car with no bill of sale and no payment. I was supposed to take their word for it that they would get me a check "No later than Wednesday and probably by Monday." It was Saturday. Their position was that their internal check request document was proof that I would get paid the agreed to amount. I told them this was not acceptable. This resulted in over half an hour of waiting around for them to come up with a solution. Their solution is actually issue 2. The slime was up to my knees at this point. Issue two: They told me that I could keep the title and the car until they had a check I just need to sign their agreements. This whole thing probably goes from slimy to illegal at this point. They offered up a power of attorney, a title request form and a title transfer form. Basically everything you would need to sell a car if you didn't have a title. The end result would be exactly the same as if I had signed the title over to them they were just trying to burry it in paperwork. At this point I had decided that a company the size of Lithia wouldn't risk their reputation on a $5000 transaction so I went ahead without pointing out that I knew exactly what they were doing. Shame on me. I was now swimming in slime! Issue three: The transaction was on a Saturday. Remember the promise that they would have a check to me "No later than Wednesday and probably Monday". No problem here. The problem was when I showed up a week later, 4 days after the "No later than..." date. After waiting around for over half an hour the sales rep told me they didn't have a check and offered no explanation as to why. He did assure me that I would have it "No later than Monday". That sounded familiar. I don't know if the issue was incompetence, he hadn't done his paperwork, or dishonestly, he knew it would take over a week and lied. Either way it's unacceptable to set expectation so far off. God forbid they do this to someone that actually needs the money in the timeline they committed to!!! The slime had now formed a title wave that I couldn't escape. Issue four: I received the canned email from the general manager thanking me for my business and offering his help in anything I needed. Remember, they haven't actually paid me for the car that they have had for 9 days at this point. I responded to that e-mail with a brief (unlike this review) description of the issue. I have yet to hear back from him. Clearly he cares as much about his customers as his sales reps do or... Maybe the slime tidal wave swallowed him, his employees and the whole dealership. We can always hope! I did finally get a check from them 10 days after they took possession of the car. It's not the time that I have an issue with, it's the lies. These guys clearly have no integrity. They lied about the timing. They lied about what papers I was signing. There was even a second sales rep that answered the phone and lied to cover for the lies of the original rep. There is clearly a culture of deception and dishonesty at this business. You could easily do better at any other dealer in the bay area. If you do go in be prepared for the slime!!!

Service is a scam in this place. I used a 19.95 coupon with no fine print for oil change and was charged 54$. I could have got the oil change for a lot less in other places.

They scammed me!!!!!

I purchased a used car on 03/05. I gave these people $5000. And on 03/22 the car broke down. They gave me a bill for $1711. I work overnight and I am a single mother of 3. I barely drive the car. They said the car was fine when I drove it off the lot. Please be mindful when using this car lot. I would encourage u to look elsewhere. I am stuck with no money and a broke car!!!!!!!
