I visited Advantage BMW Midtown in Houston over the Thanksgiving holiday for a four wheel alignment after buying new tires. I chose them specifically because their website advertised a $179.99 alignment. Unfortunately, the experience was frustrating. My service advisor, J. David Guerrero, immediately tried to upsell me into a $340 ?special alignment,? claiming my X3 M40i had an M/performance assisted differential (it does not). After waiting, he later admitted the special alignment wasn?t needed, but then quoted me around $250 at checkout. When I pointed out their website price, he said ?you should?ve told me you had a coupon.? It wasn?t a coupon, it was the listed price on their website. He only honored the $179.99 price after I pulled up their own website and showed him. He also asked for a positive review and made it uncomfortable by saying it?s the holidays and ?we?re trying to make money.? Worst of all, immediately after the alignment I noticed a new rattling/clinking noise when driving over bumps, which was never there before. I have driven this vehicle long distance and had it serviced at two different BMW dealerships in the past with no rattles, and this noise only started right after this alignment visit. Overall, disappointing experience. I felt like I had to fight just to get the advertised price and I left with a new issue. I would avoid this location if possible.
