We recently purchased a BMW X3 M Series from AutoNation BMW of Dallas. Overall, the experience was positive—the selection of vehicles was strong, customer service was good, and the facilities were clean and comfortable (though they did run out of snacks). Unfortunately, one issue significantly detracted from the experience. During the “detailing” process, the original BMW floor mats that were supposed to come with the vehicle were removed and replaced with cheap, generic mats. The mats had been discussed multiple times during price negotiations, so discovering this after we got home—since the purchase was completed in the evening—was both surprising and disappointing. It felt like a tacky bait-and-switch and left a bad taste in our mouths. We do love the car—BMW makes a great product—but this was our third purchase with this dealership, and that kind of distasteful tactic makes us think twice about buying here again. Overall, a good process overshadowed by an avoidable and classless misstep.

Overall, our experience purchasing a BMW X3 M Series from AutoNation BMW of Dallas was largely positive, but one disappointing issue significantly detracted from what should have been a seamless transaction. The dealership offers a strong variety of vehicles, the facilities are clean and comfortable, and the customer service throughout most of the process was good. The staff was professional, and while we were waiting, the environment was pleasant (though they did run out of snacks). From a process standpoint, everything moved efficiently, and we generally felt well taken care of. Unfortunately, the experience was marred by what felt like a classic bait-and-switch involving the original BMW floor mats. During negotiations, the floor mats were explicitly discussed multiple times. While the car was being ?detailed,? the original mats that were supposed to come with the vehicle were removed and replaced with cheap, generic mats. Because we purchased the car in the evening, we didn?t notice until we were already home. This was particularly frustrating and disappointing because we had been actively negotiating price, and the mats themselves were repeatedly referenced during that discussion. Discovering this after the fact felt tacky and, frankly, classless. It left a bad taste in our mouths and overshadowed an otherwise solid experience. We do love the car?BMW makes an excellent product?but that?s not something the dealership can take credit for. We were also returning customers, and this was our third purchase with this dealer, which makes the situation even more disappointing. While the overall process was positive, this distasteful tactic has made us reconsider doing future business here, and we will likely purchase from a different dealership next time.
