Saturday September 20, 2025 between 11:00AM to 1:32PM, I had a very disappointing experience at the South Bay BMW dealership. I visited with the intention of trading in my BMW X7 for another vehicle of the same model and year. Unfortunately, the level of professionalism I encountered was far below what I expected from BMW. From the very beginning, it was clear that the sales team was not interested in finalizing the deal, despite my flexibility regarding the down payment. The salesperson was unwilling to negotiate or listen to my needs, and his manager, Edward, demonstrated the same dismissive approach. What made the experience even more frustrating is that several of my friends who work at BMW confirmed that South Bay BMW is known for poor customer service in sales. This only added to my disappointment, as I had always trusted BMW to deliver a high standard of service. I am extremely upset by this experience and never imagined such treatment could come from a BMW dealership. I will be escalating this matter to BMW corporate for further review.

Marco, You stated that our sales team was not interested in finalizing the deal. This can not be the furthest from the truth, we sometimes get over zealous in our attempts to finalize a deal. Our livelihood depends on finalizing deals. It's unfortunate that you took to a public forum to link your experience with South Bay BMW, a dealer with that of the decision of the bank (BMW Financial) in regards to your financing. Although you state that you were flexible with the down payment, it was not enough to secure the financing through BMW Financial and for this you proceed to blame South Bay BMW and the sales experience. We have no control over the bank and it's advance policy. Sometimes when customer don't get their way, it's easy to call it a bad experience. We provided, above market trade in value for your vehicle, discounted our vehicle to below market all in the interest of finalizing a deal. The fact that the bank would not approve the finance structure that you wanted is no indication of our willingness to finalize a deal. We appreciate your visit to South Bay BMW and an opportunity to put a deal together. Best of luck on your vehicle search.

I had a horrible experience at South Bay BMW. Over several days, I picked out a car, signed a contract, then all of a sudden, my car was sold to someone else at another dealership! They wanted me to wire the full cost of the car to them before the car even arrived. South Bay was not responsive to me at all, basically telling me there was nothing that they could do. Zero empathy or offer of assistance. Frankly, it felt like a "bait and switch" scenario.

Initially would have rated a 5 based on Sales experience,
Initially would have rated a 5 based on Sales experience, shortly after having the car, identified an issue with the key FOBs, as it would not adjust the seats between FOB1 and FOB2. Took the car back multiple times, they finally tested on 2 other X3’s with the same results, stated was a I9 software defect. After a month still no update, so have to manually adjust the seats between FOB users. Have to question what’s next with the I9 software if something as basic as adjusting seat positions between profiles doesn’t work.
