I purchased a used 2016 Volvo XC90 there on October 22nd. After waiting for 2 1/2 hours for the finance manager I wrote a check and left with the vehicle. I had some concerns because there was water no the center console. On the way home I found that the main screen was turning on and off by itself and the mode selector dial did not work. In addition the warning light came on about the VOC (Volvo on call) being inoperable. This same warning came on every time it was started after that. I called in immediately and told them of the issues. The next day it came up with another error code related to one of the cameras. In addition it had water sloshing around in the ceiling somewhere. On the 24th I returned the vehicle. This part does not bother me.
Now I asked to have my money refunded. I was told I would have a check on Monday October 28th. I heard nothing. I called in on the 29th and they said they would call back which they never did. On Wednesday I flew to Chicago and purchased a different vehicle. Since they still had my $40k I had to borrow against my line of credit to pay for the new vehicle. Finally on Friday I called again and left a message. On Monday I called again when nobody had bothered to call me and asked when I would get my money. I was told I would get a check on Wednesday November 5th. I asked for them to pay the interest I had incurred because of their policy to hold my money 10 days before returning it. The sales manager told me he doesn't pay interest. I asked him why I should have to pay the interest after I'd been inconvenienced and he just repeated that he doesn't pay interest. So I'm out about $50 in interest for them trying to sell me a lemon and then holding onto my money for almost two weeks. What a bunch of crap. Glad there policy wasn't 60 days before they returned my check!
