Surprising and slow customer service

There was a 1-star review that I took with a grain of salt, thinking it was just an isolated bad experience. Turns out not so much... it took 4 emails until someone responded knowledgeably, yet even then not answering my basic simple question. Then they inform me that they don't sell out-of-state! Never heard of a dealer that refused to sell out of California... no explanation, just that "I don't make the rules, I just follow them." end of conversation... very odd and completely unsatisfying. But then, why do they care how they treat someone from out of state? Just a generally unsatisfying experience... would NOT recommend to anyone even in California. AND they should not be advertising as if they are open to sales outside California.

Looking to purchase out of state and was informed that this dealers corporate policy will not allow out of state purchases. While talking with the initial sales person he was confident there was no way to purchase from out of state until I informed him I have a friend who lives in California. He then suggested I register the car at that friends address then change the registration later. Concerned that this may be illegal I asked to talk with a manager to insure the corporate policy was not influenced by law. At this point Vincent got mad. He began loudly telling me how his manager would say the same exact thing. I informed Vincent that this was not the way to win customers and encouraged him to have a more can do attitude. He shouted “have a nice day the manager will call you” just before he slammed the phone down. So I called back. I immediately got the manager who just seconds before was allegedly very busy with a customer. He answered immediately the way Vincent had left our previous call. I weeded through about 90 seconds of loud intrusive talking and finally got the answer I was looking for. I’m happy I don’t ever have to deal with these two again. They are a true testament to poor customer service and working for money. There was absolutely no interest in getting me the car I desired. They clearly wanted the fasted and shortest route to get payed. True dirtbag car salesmen.
