Cheated me by selling a dented car and then blame me for

Reviewed by Doctor AliDecember 10, 2024

Cheated me by selling a dented car and then blame me for it…on 08/17/2924 I purchased a new atlas se with tech. This vehicle was having a dent in top of the roof in beetween front shield and moonroof glass. It was overlooked by me in suspect to be as a design which I also point to sale person. On fifth day of purchase when I realize that it is not a design, I took the vehicle back to them to show it to them on 08/23/2024. But they did not accept it and blamed me that I did it somewhere. This dent was having rust and a yellow mark with scratches which cannot be happen within five days which clearly nullify their blame on me. The sale person even lied that he do not remember if I highlighted that dent to him and suspected it as a design which is obvious as he need to save his job. Sales Manager Meredith rudely behaved and asked if I have any proof to show that it happen before purchase. But she do not want to accept that the dent condition itself is a proof. I place my review somewhere else where I got a response from owner to contact his business manager Marcus on a number provided within reply. I tried calling many times, visited his office at both Volkswagen and Kia store at route 130, email him and message on linkedIn but I did not received any back response to help. Moreover, I sent an email to owner Wayne Hileman, but he did not respond back. May be it is a tradition for him to respond only review but do not offer an actual help. Moreover, I contacted Volkswagen executive group of USA board members and they denied to help and said we stand behind dealer decision even without performing any investigation. Such an injustice just to sale a vehicle. Now I am looking the ways to have my help for this cheating happened with me. I do not know whether I will be successful or not to get help for this case but I will try my best. I always believe that GOD is care taker of all and punishment will come for the wrongdoers sooner or later.

I previously had posted a five star review on another

Reviewed by TJDonahueOctober 07, 2024

I previously had posted a five star review on another site based upon my experience purchasing a new car in November 2021. David Pittman was still great and this review is no reflection of my experience with him as a salesman. That being said, my experience with the service department has been nothing but absolutely miserable. In less than a year of owning my 2022 Taos, a faulty wiring harness caused the emergency brake to slam on while driving. I found that out while driving home northbound on 95 at night. After nearly getting rear ended several times on a major highway, I got it home and to the dealership the next day. I was thankfully provided a loaner, and a few days later my car is back. Fine. Next with less than 17,000 miles, the rear brakes and rotors went. Even more incredulous, the service rep acted like this was completely normal. And hey, at the time, it WASN’T covered under warranty at the time (later on VW did extend the warranty and it was reimbursed, although that was a bit of a hassle) Further down the line, the fuel injectors went. I believe it was at this point their service department told VW’s customer service that I chipped the engine to bypass the governor. I had to jump through hoops to get that resolved. Apparently they had mixed me up with another customer. September 8th 2024 I bring my shop in due to a check engine light coming on. At this point I have less than 44,000 miles on the car. After paying for a rental on my own for two days (despite selecting to pay for a “rental fee” on their online form), I was provided a loaner. Next, I was first told by the service rep, Flo Nahrgang, that they were waiting on parts. This took about two weeks before I was told in writing that the parts arrived. Then I was told that their service tech working on the car was sick and they’d need more time. Some additional time passes. Then they just stopped answering me all together. I started reaching out to other people at the dealership and I received no response. It is now Monday, October 7th. After responding to emails to no avail and leaving voicemails for various staff members, I figured I’d give one last call to the service department just before 5pm. The receptionist transferred me to Jim Gallagher, the service manager. I explained I’ve been waiting on an update on my car for a few days and we were 30 days in from when the car was dropped off. He explained with a chuckle that Flo, the person I’ve been dealing with, has since gone on vacation in Scotland. He then told me that they were still waiting parts and promised an update tomorrow. So all in all, here I am a month later without my car. I’ve gotten conflicting stories from their service team members and this whole experience has convinced me to never buy a VW ever again.

About Burlington VW

What's the difference? The new Volkswagens are all the same no matter which dealership you visit. The Dealers all advertise the same crap; Price Service Selection! In the words of Billy Joel "You may be right I may be crazy".

Believe it or not there truly is a difference and it's big. The right dealer makes the transaction so much easier. The salespeople take their lead from their sales managers who in turn take their marching orders from ownership. Many Volkswagen dealerships are owned by people who have been with the franchise for more than 3 years. Think about that. In 1983 there was no Kia Hyundai's were hardly worth consideration Pontiac and Oldsmobile were going strong. Long term presence in the market place means the dealer has roots in the community and cares about the dealership's overall reputation.

We at Burlington VW try hard to create a very different atmosphere. Our showroom is unlike any other Volkswagen dealership. That becomes obvious as soon as you walk in. However we realize none of that matters if our sales personnel mistreat you or try to rush you through the process. We very much want to sell you a new or Certified Pre-owned VW. We know we need to answer all of the buyer's questions and address all of the concerns. If we can do that and have a good time that is a major victory for the customer and us.

I say it all the time "Whoever says buying a car isn't fun hasn't been to Burlington Volkswagen!"
