My experience at this dealership from sales to service

Reviewed by JacobNovember 23, 2025

My experience at this dealership from sales to service has been nothing short of completely unacceptable. Buyer beware. First problems arose during the sales process where i was given an interest rate figure that i had been supposedly approved for on the sales floor, then in the finance office i was given another, higher interest rate. When asked about the discrepancy, i was given an incoherent answer, coming down to "that’s just how it settled upstairs. " given that i still wanted the vehicle, i let this go. I should not have, given that this is more than likely willful deception and probably illegal. Second issue was from my pre-delivery inspection. Unbeknownst to me, the service department failed to remove suspension spacers on my brand new vehicle, causing my front suspension mounts to be quote "destroyed” within 1500 miles/90 days, according to John at the service dept. My third issue was also related to this same service. When i brought the vehicle in to service a recall and my suspension suddenly rattling and creaking from my destroyed front suspension, one of their technicians had taken my vehicle for a joyride on the roads immediately around the dealership, reaching speeds up to 75mph on roads that have speed limits that max out at 30. Not to mention that this is during the break-in period of my vehicle, causing unknown damage to the long-term reliability of my car. I have completely lost confidence in my vehicle’s reliability and safety as a result. My fourth issue is the complete unresponsiveness from this dealer. Every single time i call this dealer, no matter what department or person i ask for, or what time of day, i have been told that no one is available to help me, and i am pointed to a voicemail box that is equally unresponsive. You also cant reach these people via E-mail either, they will just ignore it if you’re not actively trying to purchase a vehicle. I had to physically go to this dealer on a saturday afternoon to talk to someone about my issue to actually get some level of service. Totally unprofessional. This dealership, despite my continued patience and accommodation, has completely fallen short every single time i have interacted with them. I would never recommend Bill Jacobs VW/BMW/etc. to anyone i know, because of the terrible quality of service i have received and the utter lack of professionalism from the staff at all levels. Do yourself a favor and don’t trust this dealership with your 5-figure purchase. They don’t care about you once that vehicle leaves the sales floor

Bill Jacobs VW was an awful experience all around.

Reviewed by Brie from IndianaSeptember 09, 2025

Bill Jacobs VW was an awful experience all around. This dealership is full of dishonest scammers. Specifically, the GM Mike, and 2 salesmen Marc & Rodrigo. They sneak illegal fee amounts into the paperwork as well as upcharge for insane recon fees. They added an extra $3k to the purchase price for changing wiper blades and putting a new battery in a key fob to consider it "certified". They will also tell you that you can put a deposit down to hold a vehicle but they don't actually intend on holding it. We negotiated over the phone after they admitted they snuck things into the initial offer and finally came to an agreed upon purchase price after walking away a first time. The GM told me if I put $1,000 deposit down he would hold the vehicle. He then went on vacation and left the salesmen to clean up his mess. I was told by Marc that Mike will sell the car out from under somebody even with a deposit down. Marc also informed me that Rodrigo would give me a call regarding the vehicle the next day. Every single person had it in their notes that we were coming in to purchase the car. We live 2 hours away (which they knew.) Rodrigo never called to follow up. My calls went unanswered. Finally, when I realized it appeared the car had been sold and called the dealership to confirm, they passed me around in circles until somebody mustered up the courage to admit to me they did sell the vehicle. When I asked questions, all they did was transfer me to Mike's desk--whom they KNEW was on vacation. Do not waste your time with this shady dealership.

This was my second attempt at purchasing a vehicle

Reviewed by iwally89August 03, 2025

This was my second attempt at purchasing a vehicle through Bill Jacobs Volkswagen, and unfortunately, it ended in disappointment again. I was looking to trade in my 2024 Golf R for the newly improved 2025 model. However, the sales process felt more like an effort to push me toward settling for what was already on the lot, rather than helping me get the car I truly wanted. After deciding to take things into my own hands—and with support from Volkswagen of America—I learned that dealerships have the ability to trade inventory between each other to better meet customer preferences. This is an option no one at Bill Jacobs ever offered or even mentioned to me. While I still plan to use their service department for maintenance, I won’t be returning to the sales team for any future Volkswagen purchases. Twice was enough. A dealership should be proactive in helping loyal VW drivers get the vehicle that fits their needs, not just the one that’s easiest to sell.
