THEY will deceive you if they dont get money

Reviewed by jb from Los Angeles December 08, 2021

UPDATE: AFTER this incident,3 hours later. they increased the price from $26.375 to $30.969 before tax. on their website. This has to be serious manipulation. They gave me false statement. They did not sell the car.!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS HAS BEEN WORST DEALERSHIP I've ever deal with !!! Very unethical, and unprofessional. Recently, I was getting the deal with sales Jose, Christopher, and their manager. On the day that i was going to purchase the vehicle, Jose told me that they can match my price in the morning. so I prepared all of my cash and went their around noon. So I was writing down all the application and they took my Drive license copy. As i was getting insurance info from the insurance agent, They were trying to keep selling theft control that i don't need and kept on asking numerous times, and as i was writing down all the info they asked me they can do discount on theft control. This theft control wasn't even advertised it will be include on the online. And right after that, after they talked to their manager, they suddenly told me that it got sold in the morning. And I was like how come you guys never knew about it until we work on our paper work. They said no idea. and manager came told me that it got sold like 10 mins ago thru online. and I asked but on their website it still shows and the General Manager came it got sold in the morning. After we walked out I even asked them to dispose all of my information right away, they just reply with we will. I want it to be dispose my information and copy of my DL right away. and they ignored my text. This is ridiculous situation I've ever experience thru dealership. Then why did you made the promise in the morning. And doesn't even know the inventory goes in n out. And tried to sell stuffs that I don't need or advertised before. Because of this i wasted our family's time and money. I've never get played around like this before. We felt really stupid and embarrassed. I even asked other dealers about this situation, they told me that this is unethical way to deal the customer who was being promised and prepared on that day. DON'T deal with this place. All they want is your money not the customer's satisfaction.

Dealer Response

I understand how frustrating it can be when a car you want is sold and no longer available. We had the opportunity to get to know you and your son quite well on the five different visits you made to the dealership to see the vehicle you were interested in.Your son even drove the vehicle multiple times on different visits. We tried to sell you the car each time, but for whatever reason, you waited to purchase the car. Please understand that the car was sold just before you arrived. We have 13 Salespeople, and those individuals may not know when a car is sold.In this instance, after the sales person got your information and went to the Sales Manager, they then became aware that the vehicle was purchased by someone else.It literally happened minutes before you arrived. As far as the website is concerned, it can take approximately 8 hours for the feed to change once a vehicle sells. There are different software programs that interact and pick up our inventory from our store.I attempted to explain this to you on the day you describe. We take protecting peoples personal information seriously. We are considered a financial institution and have a fiduciary responsibility to ensure the security of all consumers information. Again, as we expressed to you prior, we are sorry for the circumstances that led to your disappointment. If you would like to discuss your experience further, please reach out to me at your earliest convenience. Thank you. Sincerely, Neal Goldman, ngoldman@dtlamotors.com

Dealer Response

Sorry to have kept you waiting. The vehicle you saw had just arrived from another dealership, and the keys had not been stocked in to our system yet. Our new salesman tried to find the keys, and should have escalated this to management sooner. It was our mistake to have kept you waiting so long. Please feel free to contact me at ngoldman@dtlamotors.com. We love selling cars, and we'd appreciate the opportunity to try and make this up to you.

Never Again!!!

Reviewed by Jason M from Los AngelesMarch 26, 2021

I brought a CPO GTI Autobahn with 30k miles. After owning it for a couple of months I posed the hood to clean some leaves out and decided to check the oil for no real reason. No oil showed on the sick so I added half a quart, nothing. I added the rest of the quart, nothing. Then another quart, then anther. It finally registered after adding more than 4 quarts of oil. I looked up how much it should take in total and was shocked that I had been driving around with almost no oil in the engine. Holly crap, that's not good. Does the check oil light not work in GTI's? The dealer dismissed this saying 'these cars just burn a lot of oil'. If that's case then they should make sure the check oil light works and tell you to check the oil frequently. I took it to a different dealer for long term testing which showed the engine burned virtually no oil. I did not want to keep this car with what I was certain was an engine destine for a very early death. VW refused to buyback the car. After running some long term tests a lot of back and forth with Bozzani VW they offered a warranty extended to 10 years and 100k miles. With that being the best offer I took it, and now I regret it. A couple of months ago the engine began making noise. I took it in and the new dealer, Downtown LA Volkswagen, found shreds of metal in the oil. The engine was eating it’s self. I got the car back on the last day of the CPO warranty - the service dept thought I should be very appreciative of this incredible ‘luck’. I didn’t feel good about any of this. The car barely made it several miles away before erupting in clouds of smoke. Popping the hood revealed many screws were not put back in place including those that were supposed to hold the bumper on. They hadn’t finished the job when the gave me my car back. The had the nerve to ask me to tow it back to them ‘tomorrow’ as it was getting late in the day. A) Collecting the car they broke is their job and b) I didn’t want to comeback tomorrow and deal with it. I had to argue to get them to come get the car. No apologies regarding the botched install job what so ever. When I finally got my car back I noticed right way the interior of trunk had been take out then piled up in the back of the hatch. They could not explain this and suggested that I imagined it. Pretty quickly I noticed new engine sounded different, and it was harder to get it to start. I could hear valve chatter bouncing off parked cars when I drove down side streets with my windows open. Also the fan seemed to run more often and longer after I stopped the car. Noticing all of these things more and more I decided to pop the hood and check the oil, which was fine. However the top of the air intake was missing. After a good look around my friend noticed it stuck in the radiator fan. The fan belt was still going but the blades themselves were not moving. Ugh. I put the air intake cover back on and fastened it with a zip tie. I don’t think running your car through multiple heat waves with no fan is as bad as running a car with no oil but it is terrible for the engine and has undoubtedly damaged the engine, just how much only the future will tell. Volkswagen of Downtown LA told me as compensation they would sell me my next car wholesale. They did not honor this promise. That was the first Volkswagen I ever owned and it will be the last.
