A 159-horsepower, 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine is standard, while a 278-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 is available. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard, and the V-6 can have an optional six-speed manual. Rear- and four-wheel-drive configurations are available, and Tacoma rivals include the Ford Ranger, Chevrolet Colorado and Nissan Frontier.
