2500 Miles and Worth the Trip

To Whom it May Concern:
I just had the wonderful experience of purchasing a used 2004 Mazda Miata this past week through Mr Cipriano Sierra at North Park Toyota in San Antonio Texas, even though I live 1250 some miles away in Minnesota.
Having been searching for some months for the right car, I had actually missed some other potentially worthy cars due to salesperson indifference at some other distant dealerships around the country. It wasn't fun trying to communicate with such seemingly uncaring and ill-trained salespeople.
However the day I called North Park and was connected to Cipriano Sierra and inquired about the freshly listed Miata they had posted on Cars.com, I knew immediately I was talking to a professional person who cared about the customer. I asked a number of questions, as they had not yet posted pictures to view, the listing was that new and the car was still being serviced and readied. Cipriano secured the answers to my questions, inspecting the car to accurately inform me and even took pictures to provide the visuals and responded back to me in short order. I felt good that this could be my dream car and I would make the 2500 mile round trip road trip to San Antonio.
My next concern was would the car still be there when I arrived and voiced that to Cipriano. He had the answer and e-mailed me the needed documents to secure a temporary hold on the car with a refundable down payment and even got management to stretch it a day to accommodate me. It was all so easy and I was excited to make the trip to San Antonio.
The car looked beautiful and my personal inspection confirmed the car was everything Cipriano and the pictures had conveyed to me. A short test drive and some discussion later we had a deal. Everything moved along silky smooth and after a short time with Charles Hall in the finance dept., all the paperwork was completed too. Lastly, since I was not driving the car home, North Park even helped me in getting the car placed in a secure location until I can bring it home.
I am a happy and satisfied customer and wanted to share this with others. North Park Toyota is a high quality dealership, it is organized, people are friendly, trained and efficient. A great place to buy a car and even better when you have an award winning sales representative like Cipriano Sierra III to assist you.

We had called ahead of time to schedule an appointment to check out a vehicle that was on the website, it was confirmed to be at the dealership so me and my wife packed our children in the car (8 weeks, 19 months) and went over.
After our sales-person greets us he asks us about the car we wanted to see and tells us that during his lunch break, which had just ended, another person showed a customer the car and that they were test driving it. After that he wanted to show us a dodge and refused to tell us the price, waving any questions about it away with a "we'll find out about the price after X, Y, Z" and proceeded to push this car onto us after repeated rebuffs to his attempts.
They took our old car's keys in order to appraise it and then kept the keys in their possession, effectively trapping us as they routinely disappeared for 10-20 minutes at a time to do this or that, while we were attempting to console our bored and hungry children, all the while refusing to accept that we did not want the vehicle he was intent on selling to us.
We told the man that we would refuse to accept a total loan amount over a certain sum and he, within 5 minutes, presented us with an estimated car loan for the vehicle that he was still dead set on selling to us which was almost 4,000$ higher than the maximum we wanted to pay.
At this point (about an hour and a half later) he tells us that the car we had set up an appointment to view had been sold to the other interested party and still attempted to sell us the other vehicle which we were now adamantly against.
Our 8 week old is hungry and crying, so we attempt to console and feed him, while our 19 month old child is screaming and struggling to do anything he can in order to simply run free so we tell this man that we will not be buying a vehicle that we do not want for a price that is significantly higher than we felt like paying and that we wanted the keys to our car back so we could leave, he agrees and returns with the keys but that was not all.
In addition to our keys, he returns with another employee as well who essentially tells me wife that she should get over her distaste and distrust for the car's manufacturer so I step in and tell the man that we will not be buying the vehicle whatsoever, that it is entirely too expensive, that we did not want this vehicle at all in the first place, and that our children are upset. The man immediately reacts poorly, looking as if he is struggling internally to not lose his temper at us, promptly stands up and bids us farewell as shortly as a person is capable of and returns our keys.
The kicker is that I called the dealership today (the day after) and asked about the vehicle specifically and was told that it was there and a customer was test driving it, around four hours later they said it was bought.
You read that correctly, the same vehicle that was sold the day before was being test driven and sold 24 hours later.
These people absolutely do not operate in good faith and will lie to you without hesitation, stooping to the absolute lowest of tricks and dirty maneuvers just to get your money.
I do not want the employees I dealt with to be subject to any negativity, I simply want people to be forewarned before coming to this place and being tricked in the same way that I was.
Great experience
