For full review, visit Keating Toyota’s Facebook page, as this platform only allows a minimal number of characters. Buyer Beware – Keating Toyota’s sales tactics are deceptive and illegal. Vehicle advertised at $23,394; contract presented for $26,100 with hidden “finance fees.” Violates TILA (15 U.S.C. § 1601 et seq.) and Texas Finance Code §§ 348.005 & 348.102. Dealer claimed a service contract was required — unlawful under Texas Occupations Code § 1304.006. Manager Calvin Redmond refused the sale when we declined. Andrew Haines gave conflicting excuses (lender → dealer), violating Texas Bus. & Com. Code § 17.46(b)(12). This bait-and-switch is banned by § 17.46(b)(9) and FTC Act § 5 (15 U.S.C. § 45). Luis Toledo removed the contract but refused to revert to the original price, citing new “fees,” violating § 17.46(a) and (b)(12). The proper deal: $23,394 → $20,083 financed. Actual: $22,958.43, hidden charges violating TILA, Texas Finance Code, and Texas DTPA § 17.46(b)(11). Complaints filed with Texas AG, FTC, and Texas DMV Enforcement. Avoid this dealership. Their conduct is deceptive, coordinated, and illegal.

I cannot say enough about how horrible our experience was

Reviewed by Eric from League City, Texas September 05, 2025

I cannot say enough about how horrible our experience was at Keating. I apologize for the length of this, but I do not want anyone else to deal with what happened to us. My wife and I were not in the market to buy a new car but received a Prime deal in the mail. That offered 14k for my wife's car (value 12k), 0 percent interest for 60 months on a Rav 4, and an Amazon $500 gift card, who can say no! So we called to ask about the deal and just got numbers. Would not discuss over the phone but acknowledged the deal and set an appointment. Got to Keating and the first sales rep did not seem to know about the offer. Started by showing us a used Rav 4. After talking more with the rep, we got sent to the asst manager. Again, the manager did not even acknowledge the promotion and seemed the whole time to defer away from the questions we were asking about it. Ultimately, they offered 10k for my Wifes car. I understand that the quality of car matters. But they deducted what they would take off for car damage based of 12k not 14k, that “their promotion” was offering. The entire time the manager was rude and condescendin seemed that we were being unreasonable on what we were looking for. It was clear he had no intention of working with us at all. It should be noted we have our 1-year-old with us and she was getting fussy. So, I ultimately had to go into another room with her. I was there to make sure they did not try to swindle my wife, the next part of negotiations I was not present for. Ultimately the manager pawned us off to another sales associate. While I was away, they offered for my wife to see a Corolla Cross, since, according to them we could not afford a Rav 4, once again trying to deviate from their promotion, that again no one seemed aware of. As my wife was viewing the Cross, the sales staff did not do a very good job going over exactly what was in the Car, or mention the fact that it was a Corolla LL. My wife thought she was looking at the LE. The L is the most basic model without even auto lights. Keating wanted my wife to pay $575 a month for a 7 year finance with 5K down. This was about the time that I came out. I looked over the rough numbers the guy wrote and had our interest at 8%! I told him that was way too high with my wife's 800 credit score. He tried to defend it and at first didn't budge. I had to go into another room again with my kid, and my wife was left alone. I came back for the last round, and he managed to lower it to $400 a month, but of course lowering the interest rate to 5% that seemed so impossible not 30 minutes prior. Ultimately, we signed and took the car home. Biggest mistake of our lives, because that's when I noticed the lack of features, we thought we were getting and doesn't even have a flip key. At this moment I looked at the numbers and was appalled. MSRP on a Cross L is 24,000. Keating ultimately charged us 29k for this Car. After our 5 K downpayment we owed 26K. At that 5 percent interest rate that was written down now was 6 percent. I find this atrocious when we went there for a deal and were told even while we were there that they had so many deals going on, and yet we paid 5k over sticker price. And they never acknowledged the deal we were there to get. All of this was done under the table. When I got to the table to look at the final numbers, the sale price was not listed. He wrote on a single sheet of paper the 26,000 with the interest rate and asked to sign. I thought that was the sales price not including the down payment. The sheet he presented also looked like we were getting a discounted price. Should I have checked more into it, asked more questions and done more research? Yes. But ultimately, we didn't research because we saw the promotion, and at the end of being there for 7 hours with a screaming kid my head was not in the right place, and I fully believe Keating took advantage of that. To top it off we didn't even get a spare key for our new vehicle.

YOU’RE BETTER OFF AT ANOTHER TOYOTA DEALERSHIP!

Reviewed by E Tre from PearlandAugust 31, 2025

YOU’RE BETTER OFF AT ANOTHER TOYOTA DEALERSHIP! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! It’s in the middle of beautiful neighborhoods but it’s GHETTTTOOOOOOO - DO NOT BE FOOLED! The “certified” used cars are not inspected properly and sold my kid a car that leaked oil. They told her that was normal because it was an older car. They offered to exchange the car for another one, and the one they had in mind was sold to another customer. Since we weren’t getting anywhere with the salesman or the manager for repairs or exchange, we used our own mechanic and spent roughly $300 to get the repairs done which was mainly an oil filter they didn’t replace. We explained what happened to the manager, and offered to reimburse us. Still no check in the mail. The salesman, Jonathan, blocked us from contacting him. I didn’t really believe in crooked used cars salesmen and managers until coming to Keating Toyota. I don’t recommend this place AT ALL. You’re better off at a more reputable Toyota dealership. Shame on you, JONATHAN TYO and LUIS TOLEDO.
