By far the worst dealer and car brand I have EVER had the displeasure of dealing with. I have been a customer of Grieco Toyota’s for over 5 years now. They used to be AMAZING and genuinely seemed to care about there customers. Now they’re in it for the money and nothing else. This all slowly seemed to change after they did a remodel of the dealership. I purchased a brand new 2020 Corolla LE on March 20th 2020. Since then I have had COUNTLESS issues with the car. Transmission skipping, Apple car play disconnection issues, screen going black on me, insane tire noise, speakers not playing in the back, AC gurgling and most recently a MAJOR flood in the car! The AC unit overflowed into the front passenger and rear passenger seat. It was so bad that it caused mold. Toyota put cheap all-weather rubber mats in the car so there was NO way of me seeing the water pooling. I also drive my car, not sit in the passenger seat. No way to see it till the mold formed around the outsides and there wasn’t any smell.
Apparently they claim that a “spider web” inside the tubes caused it to flood. How do I know that the car wasn’t sold to me that way? The car is so new and it takes time for mold to grow. I was hearing the AC gurgling on and off for a few months but figured it was just being noisy due to the humidity. If a small little spider is able to cause said problem, this is an issue. I also was told from another dealer that this is an issue Toyota knows about but doesn’t fix. There drain tube is 1/4-1/2in in diameter. That’s TINY! They don’t fix it because they know they won’t cover damage due to it and it saves them money. Bunch of scam artists.
I’ve been dealing with a 13 day back and forth battle between Toyota corporate, Grieco and my insurance company (progressive). I finally got word today that Toyota REFUSES to cover the damage to my car and the AC issue. Progressive may not even cover it. They want me to sign a form saying that I’ll pay for whatever progressive doesn’t pay for. So basically I’m being told that my brand new Corolla with 2,680 miles on it won’t be covered and I owe a good $6000 or so. The damage is extensive plus the other issues I mentioned in my first paragraph.
At this point I’ve had enough. They need to buy my car back with no additional charges or I’ll be contacting the BBB on both corporate and this dealer. I’ll also be contacting the news to let them know that Toyota sells brand new junk cars and makes excuses not to fix it.
The other crazy thing about this story is that Toyota had my car for 9 days before they even pulled the hood up to look at the AC. They claimed they knew the issue before they even looked at the AC. They knew they wouldn’t cover it so they didn’t want to waste there time looking into the AC till someone paid them first. They only looked under the hood because I threatened that I had rights to sue them if they didn’t look and prove what happened. They also gave me a rental car for the last 3 1/2 days. The rental car they gave me was disgusting as well. Cardboard boxes and trash in the trunk, trash in the door handles, money in the door handles, coffee stain in the center console, and dried spit marks on the mirrors/ touchscreen. I had to sanitize the car before I drove away but the trash is still in the trunk and doors. I did take pictures before I cleaned stuff though. They apparently have no car cleaning policy for Covid-19 and they don’t care about new car buyers. Like I said before, they need to take this car back with no additional costs or I WILL spread this information to the BBB and the news. This is just insane. You buy a new car expecting to have no issues and if you do, you expect it to be taken car of. None of This has been done.
Lack of Communication

Extremely disappointed with the alleged “miscommunication” between the Service and Sales departments. Before making the trip from out of state and making an appointment to view a specific vehicle, I confirmed with Grieco two times over the phone that both the vehicle and its title were currently at the dealership. However, when I arrived, the representative we had spoken with asked what we were there to see as if we had never spoken. In the 20 minutes we waited for our salesman to get the keys to the vehicle we were there to see, he tried to show us newer models online than the one we were interested in. Finally, he told us that the vehicle we had made an appointment and traveled to see was not there and being serviced. The group of Grieco employees I experienced presented as dishonest with no regard for my time.

Buying my vehicle from Grieco Toyota along with the assistance of Rebecca Carriero was simply fantastic. Rebecca was very friendly, efficient, and professional. She was very responsive to my text messages and phone calls throughout the entire buying process.
Shortly after buying my car, my car needed an alignment which Grieco covered without issue or cost. Not only did I get an unbeatable deal but the buying experience was excellent.
The icing on the cake was receiving a call from one of the owners claiming I could give her a call with any comments, questions, or concerns.
I am glad I bought my vehicle from Grieco. Highly recommended dealership.
