DO NOT BUY FROM TOYOTA OF CLEVELAND HEIGHTS – PREDATORY
DO NOT BUY FROM TOYOTA OF CLEVELAND HEIGHTS – PREDATORY LENDING, LIES, AND HARASSMENT! I had an absolutely terrible experience with Toyota of Cleveland Heights. If I could give no stars, I would. The dealership engaged in unethical business practices, predatory lending, and even threatened me with false accusations. 1. Fraudulent Financing Practices: I financed a vehicle through this dealership, and when I later spoke to the lender, they told me that the income figures on my financing agreement did not match the documentation provided. The lender confirmed that this discrepancy resulted from incorrect information entered by Toyota dealership, not me. Instead of addressing their mistake and make efforts to correct, the dealership left me to resolve the issue with the lender on my own. 2. Threats and Harassment: Despite having a legally binding financing contract in place, the dealership threatened to report car as stolen. This is completely unacceptable, defamatory, and legally questionable. 3. Humiliating Harassment and Fraudulent Tactics: When I arrived at the dealership to discuss the issue 2/4/2025, they falsely accused me of falsifying documents and even attempted to involve law enforcement to frame me. They went as far as reporting my vehicle as stolen & claim they had called the police on me. How can I steal a car that I signed a legally binding contract for and was given the keys to? This was clearly an intimidation tactic designed to cover up their mistakes and shift blame onto me. Their continued dishonesty and harassment further expose their complete lack of integrity and ethics. The individuals involved in this nightmare experience include Derek Roberts (Manager), Matthew Koler, and a few saleswomen. Their actions were deceptive, manipulative, and outright harassing. When I walked into the dealership on 2/4/2025, I was told to sit down and was informed that I could not leave. One of the sales women even began yelling at me saying "Give me my car back, give me my car back—you have to stay here and cannot leave!" This aggressive and intimidating behavior only escalated the harassment and further demonstrated the toxic environment at this dealership. I came in peace to discuss the letter I received, and instead, I was humiliated and embarrassed. Additionally, I received letter in mail supposedly from Toyota Corporate, stating that they would be re-negotiating a new deal with me. However, upon going in dealership on 2/4/2025 they outright denied ever agreeing to any such renegotiation and even claimed that their corporate office was lying! This was a blatant deception, as the letter was falsely created by the dealership itself, pretending to be corporate to lure me in for further harassment. 4. Fabrication and Lies to Cover Their Mistakes: In desperate attempt to cover their tracks, the dealership is now falsely claiming that I applied using 3 different addresses, falsified documents, and engaged in fraudulent activity—all blatant lies. This is a deal that was granted and approved at this dealership, yet instead of owning up to their incompetence and dishonest practices, they are attempting to frame me with false accusations. This dealership needs to be shut down! 5.Taking Action – What You Can Do If you have had a similar experience at Toyota of Cleveland Heights, speak out! I would strongly advise against doing business with Toyota of Cleveland Heights. My experience at this dealership was deeply disappointing, marked by a lack of professionalism, integrity, and honesty. The staff was rude, unprofessional, and resorted to intimidation tactics rather than ethical business practices. At one point, they even called the police on me, providing false information and attempting to manipulate the situation to their advantage. I also received a letter regarding a “negotiation under modified terms,” which seemed to be nothing more than a scare tactic to pressure me into compliance. The dealership’s approach was aggressive, with certain employees attempting to prevent me from leaving and making unreasonable demands. Furthermore, I was appalled by their lack of accountability. Rather than admitting their mistakes, they chose to abuse their authority and misrepresent the situation. Their primary focus appears to be profit at any cost, rather than genuine customer service or ethical sales practices. I strongly encourage potential customers to take the negative reviews seriously. The one-star ratings are not exaggerations—they reflect the reality of how this dealership operates. If you value honesty, professionalism, and fair treatment, I recommend taking your business elsewhere.
