Even "Tough Sale" Customers Can Be Satisfied

Like many, I dread when the time rolls around to purchase a new/used vehicle. Being in my late 40's I've had my fair share of dealership experiences, both good and bad. In addition, I don't like to take the time to write reviews. It takes an experience that is either exceptional and stands out beyond others, or an experience that is unfortunate and blatantly screams poor business practices (where I feel it necessary to offer information for others to beware/look out for). Over the years I have written a total of two "one star¿" reviews, ironically both were experiences I encountered at dealerships (and yes, I have also written "five star¿¿¿¿¿" reviews on dealership/auto industry experiences). Today marks one of those days where I feel it's worthwhile to share my experience at Acton Toyota. First off, its important to note I started my research for a new vehicle six months ago. I've been to several dealerships, test driven many makes and models, and did homework well in advance, not only on each vehicle, but on the dealerships, general managers, and sale representatives. My philosophy is knowledge is power, so spending the time researching those things, and going the lengths to familarize on tips and advice with car buying, can often turn a potential disaster and unhappy customer, into a smooth and positive outcome for the buyer and dealership/salesperson. Today was one of those encounters where I walked out of dealership with a smile instead of a headache, thanks to salesman John Bernard. John made the initial contact by phone and visit for a test drive worth my time. Not once did I feel pressured, nor become skeptical of the signature dealership tactics that lead you to question the games being played. John was transparent from the second we spoke on the phone, up to and through my time at the dealership. If you want a transparent hassle free dealership to work with then I highly recommend Acton Toyota of Littleton. I am not an easy run of the mill customer. I will ask every question imaginable, question anything that doesn't sit well with me, and hold my ground with no problem, walking away if I know or sense the situation is not going to be favorable. Although I have not yet finalized a purchase, leaving the dealership today undoubtedly helped confirm I want to do business with John @Acton Toyota. Working in management myself, it can be evident when a business is run properly and backed by effective and efficient individuals. I have not met nor had any interaction with the General Manager, but I'll give xxxxxxto Glenn Hoffman for running a competitive dealership that employs ethical individuals who carry out daily business operations. John Bernard is one of those transparent laid back individuals that would be an asset to any dealership fortunate enough to have him. Thank you John for your time and willingness to restore faith in the ever evolving automotive world, and prove there are good salespeople that do exist. It was a pleasure working with John and I look forward to see what the future holds for me at Acton Toyota.
