We called Greg LeBlanc Toyota ready to purchase a 4Runner, only to be told they won’t sell to out-of-state buyers. Apparently, they only sell to locals to “keep vehicles in-state.” I’ve never heard anything like that—turning away a guaranteed sale simply because of where the customer lives. A sale is a sale, right? This policy makes absolutely no sense and left a terrible impression. If you’re not a Louisiana resident, don’t waste your time. Avoid this place.

the only nice people are the ones that talk on the phone to valued clients, the service providers are more stuck up than anything id imagine, to the point of being happy to tell me that they cant help me, before even knowing exactly what im asking for. and they dont want to help, many people would come to a compromise but this stuck up service provider just wants to say they cant do anything. I purchased a warranty from toyota, and she was so happy to tell me that she couldnt help and they only accept extended warranties purchased at their dealership site. even the financial manager said that it sounded like they were being lazy, but he could not help, thats such a bad environment for the worker and the customer. I would that we boycott these stealerships until they learn to treat their customers right. It would be nice for them to beg for warranty claims if profits are so slim.

Wrong Diagnosis by service department, service manager

Reviewed by belledwnsthJune 17, 2024

Wrong Diagnosis by service department, service manager eager to charge for unnecessary repair. Department failed to check thoroughly before diagnosing s problem that does not exist. I brought my tundra in due to a recall on ball joints. I was told my rack and pinion needed to be replaced due to excessive power steering fluid leak. I was also told that they could not perform alignment after the replacement of ball joints due to the issue diagnosed. I was given a quote on the rack and pinion replacement which I said no to making an appointment since I needed a to second opinion due to the outrageous cost. The service manager told me the rack and pinion failure will cause me to lose control of the vehicle and will likely crash. I was shaken up by this unexpected information. I asked for all of this in writing of this explanation , too much going through my mind to be able to remember everything she said, I had to pay for this to be printed out. Service manager told me to be careful in a tone that really had me worried. I left with extreme anxiety and fear, worried about driving my truck. While driving, thoughts raced through my mind and I began thinking about what she told me about the power steering fluid leaking everywhere, that cannot be since I have never even once added power steering fluid at any time. That service department saw built up gunk and automatically assumed it was my power steering fluid. The service team did not bother to clean away the gunk to actually check to see how much power steering fluid was in fact leaking. So how could that diagnosis be accurate. I had this issue checked by a mechanic that told me there was no thorough inspection to determine there was an issue with the rack and pinion. In fact there is absolutely nothing wrong with my rack and pinion. There has never been a power steering leak . All of that stress, anxiety and fear created by the service manager of the service department at Greg Leblanc Toyota was unnecessary. The fact that she was ready to schedule an appointment to replace the rack and pinion for thousands of dollars is outrageous and unacceptable as far as reliable service goes. Especially that the gunk was not removed to make that determination that there was a leak. Simply put, this department was ready to rip me off on an expensive repair that was wrongfully diagnosed. In my opinion after thinking over this entire event. Since my rack and pinion is fine, I can't help but believe that I would have paid thousands for a repair that was not even repaired since it didn't need to be and how would I know that. I left a review about this just after on Greg Leblanc website only to see that it was removed. Today I was thinking about the mileage on my truck and it brought back memory of the Greg Leblanc experience which was a couple of years ago. But this is definitely relevant because still to this day I have never added power steering fluid due a so called leak. This ultimately proves that the uneducated and inexperienced service team at Greg lelanc Toyota service department are not reliable as they relay false information to the customer with false diagnosis for the consumer to accept making an appointment for repairs not necessary. I am not a mechanic but to determine a leak with the power steering shouldn't one clean off the gunk , run the vehicle while turning the steering back and forth listening for the whine associated with power steering and seeing the actual leak occur during the examination in order to confirm the leak ? It is apparent to me that the service manager and service team need to be evaluated regarding their experience and knowledge to determine whether they are qualified to be considered professional.
