Gettel Toyota of Lakewood

I am extremely disappointed with Gettel Toyota Lakewood regarding our attempted purchase of a 4Runner. As business owners, we understand sales can be complicated, but what we experienced went far beyond normal issues. Throughout this process, we worked closely with Mido and David Simmons, who were aware of our progress and financing status. We also sent regular updates directly to their General Manager, Kimo Helal, to ensure transparency. To be clear, Mido, our salesperson, was helpful and professional while we were at the dealership. Our issue is not with him. The breakdown occurred at the finance and management level, where decisions are ultimately made. We began negotiations at the beginning of last week and acted in good faith at every step. We resolved minor obstacles, provided updates to the dealership and management, sent multiple emails and chat messages requesting the sales contract, and were fully transparent throughout the process including direct emails to the General Manager. On Friday, we confirmed that our financing was approved and clearly communicated that we would pick up the vehicle on Saturday, December 24th at 10:30 a.m. and we got confirmations through text. Saturday morning we received a text from our salesperson stating the 4Runner had already been sold despite our readiness, our deposit offer, and repeated confirmations. This is not how professional business is conducted. The lack of communication, disregard for a prepared buyer, and last-minute sale of the vehicle demonstrate a serious failure of ethics and customer respect. We were ready to establish a long-term relationship with this dealership, but now we will never return. If you value professionalism, transparency, and respect, be aware that this dealership failed on all counts.

Very long wait to purchase the new Toyota Tundra. To many people involved with sale and closing. I prefer dealing with one sales person and the finance person. All most walked out, but wanted the Tundra.

Over the past month, my wife and I have visited over a dozen dealerships, including several Toyota locations, in search of the perfect vehicle. Our experiences elsewhere were less than ideal, ranging from aggressive sales tactics to being asked to discuss numbers before even test driving a car. However, our experience with Gonzalo Hurtado at Gettel Toyota of Lakewood was a breath of fresh air. Gonzalo introduced himself in a calm and respectful manner, guiding us to the vehicles we were interested in and helping us compare options without any pressure. Even when we were out of town, Gonzalo worked with us remotely to put together a great deal, making a large financial decision feel seamless and stress-free. He was personable, respectful, and someone I would highly recommend to anyone in search of a new vehicle.
