The Subaru WRX received major updates for the 2022 model year with all-new styling, a redesigned interior and tweaked performance hardware. As such, 2023 adds no major updates except a revised pricing ladder, with the base price now up $1,025 to $31,625 (all pricing includes destination).
The WRX has long been an icon in the affordable performance car category, and while the 2023 WRX remains untouched from 2022 on the outside, the styling still looks crisp and fresh with a bigger hood scoop, new headlights and a revamped lower bumper from the previous generation. Select models also can be equipped with a small rear spoiler, though sadly, it still can’t match the visual appeal of the erstwhile STI’s bigger wing.
The latest-gen WRX has also benefited from changes inside that include an optional 11.6-inch touchscreen that comes bundled with Subaru’s Starlink system. Lower trims get a smaller 7.0-inch dual-screen infotainment system, and all models benefit from higher quality interior materials and reworked seats that offer better support and revised bolstering for long road trips or spirited blasts down your favorite back road.
All models will continue to be powered by a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 271 horsepower and 258 pounds-feet of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard on base, Premium and Limited trims, with a continuously variable automatic optional except on the range-topping GT, which only comes with the CVT.
