I've been buying cars over the last 50 years.
I've been buying cars over the last 50 years. I've always dreaded the experience. And for good reason. You have to deal with the usual xx from the sales staff quickly followed by the excruciating process of dealing with the "fiance manager." This time around I had all my ducks in a row from documentation to financing,to the specific vehicle we wanted. I thought we could cut to the chase. Sadly, no. For various and sundry reasons, this was not to be. This was on a Sunday and we were the only customers in the showroom. Looking out the window, there were rows and to rows, literally hundreds of cars on the lot. We had agreed on the price and were about to put down a deposit prior to completing the deal on the coming Friday. That's when finance manager said "Sorry, we can't hold a car for more than two days (Sound of jaw dropping.) The reason? What if another buyer wants the same car without delay. I was flabbergasted. Obviously, he never heard of the American expression, ' A bird in the hand, etc." That's when we walked out.

WARNING! Sales great. Service: bought 3 here. 5/29/25 wanted to charge $617 to replace my Crosstrek battery. Drove down the street to Advance Auto, same battery installed for $263.74. Absolutely insane exploitation.
