The 2017 smart fortwo is a two-door microcar that comes as a coupe or a cabriolet.

The coupe version has four trims available: the pure, prime, passion, and proxy, while the cabriolet gets the passion, prime, and proxy.

The fortwo has a cute, friendly appearance with rounded features. The front-end features a mesh grille flanked by bright-eyed headlights as well as a wide-mouth lower fascia. The body of the fortwo is painted with an eye-catching, two-tone color scheme. Standard features include LED daytime running lights, 15-inch steel wheels, and all-season tires. Sport-tuned suspension, a colored grille, power/heated side mirrors, and 15- or 16-inch alloy wheels are available as well.

Under the Hood
The fortwo is powered by a standard 89-hp, turbocharged 3-cylinder engine mated to a 6-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive. Fuel economy for the fortwo manual is an EPA-estimated 31/39 mpg city/highway. It raises slightly to a 33/39 mpg rating for the fortwo automatic.

Inside, the fortwo comes with a standard cloth-upholstered interior with a 3.5-inch color instrument cluster display. The center stack features a standard audio system with Bluetooth connectivity for phone and audio. It can be upgraded with a touchscreen navigation system and a JBL premium audio system. Standard features include automatic climate control, cruise control, and power windows/locks. Two-tone leather-trim upholstery and heated seats are also available.

Standard safety features include front airbags, antilock brakes, an electronic stability system, and Crosswind Assist, which keeps the fortwo stable during windy conditions. Forward collision warning and lane keep assist are optional.
