The 2020 Subaru Outback is a mid-size SUV that blends wagon and crossover functionality. This year, the Outback has been redesigned on an all-new platform. It offers more cargo room and improved ride quality over its predecessor. Maximum cargo capacity is 75.7 cubic feet with the rear seat folded down.

Under the hood, the Outback is powered by a standard 182-hp, 3.6-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a continuously variable transmission and all-wheel drive. A more powerful 260-hp, turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder joined with the same drivetrain is also available. Fuel economy for the base engine models is an EPA-estimated rating of 26/33 mpg city/highway. It decreases to a 23/30 mpg rating for the Turbo 2.4L.
