Three trim levels are available: SE, SEL, and Limited.
Under the hood, there are two V-6 engine options. The base engine offered in the SE, SEL, and Limited models is a 287-hp, 3.5-liter V-6, while a 365-hp, twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 is available on Limited models. Both engines are offered with a six-speed automatic transmission, and paddle shifters are included with the EcoBoost V-6. Front-wheel drive is standard, with all-wheel drive optional; if you opt for the EcoBoost engine, it is all-wheel drive only.
With the base engine and front-wheel drive, the Flex delivers 16/23 mpg city/highway and upgrading to all-wheel drive drops the fuel economy rating to 15/21 mpg city/highway. The more powerful turbocharged V-6 EcoBoost engine (with all-wheel drive) gets a 16/22 mpg rating.
