Comparison Review

Comfort
The Toyota Prius offers rear passengers about the same space to stretch out as the Toyota Prius Prime with comparable rear head- and legroom in both vehicles. Offering just a little more front head- and legroom than the Toyota Prius, drivers may find the Toyota Prius Prime a little roomier and somewhat more comfortable.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the Toyota Prius will have less of an impact on your bank account than the Toyota Prius Prime. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Toyota Prius and the Toyota Prius Prime have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
The Toyota Prius is about the same width as the Toyota Prius Prime. When looking at overall length, the Toyota Prius takes up about the same amount of space in your garage as the Toyota Prius Prime.

Handling
The Toyota Prius has a larger turning radius than the Toyota Prius Prime, making it slightly more difficult to maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
In terms of horsepower, it's basically a tie between the Toyota Prius and the Toyota Prius Prime.

Powertrain
Due to its much higher torque, the engine of the Toyota Prius does a much better job of transmitting power to the wheels than the Toyota Prius Prime.

Utility
In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the Toyota Prius and the Toyota Prius Prime.
