Comparison Review

Comfort
Due to its greater head- and legroom, passengers in the extended cab will be able to stretch out a lot more in the RAM 3500 than in the RAM 1500 Classic. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between the RAM 1500 Classic and the RAM 3500.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). Clearly, the RAM 1500 Classic is a better financial choice over the RAM 3500, when considering MSRP. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. Both the RAM 1500 Classic and the RAM 3500 have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
The RAM 1500 Classic is about the same width as the RAM 3500. If you go with the RAM 1500 Classic, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the RAM 3500.

In terms of towing capacity, the RAM 3500 is clearly the choice over the RAM 1500 Classic for pulling heavy loads. The RAM 1500 Classic has a little less horsepower than the RAM 3500.

In terms of seating, you'll be able to fit the same number of people in the RAM 1500 Classic as you will the RAM 3500. The RAM 3500 has a lot more cargo capacity for hauling lumber or gardening supplies than the RAM 1500 Classic.
