Comparison Review

Comfort
Passengers in the back seat will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Volkswagen Arteon than the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, due to its greater head- and legroom. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the Volkswagen Arteon in the front seats.

Convenience
You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the Mercedes-Benz C-Class as you will with the Volkswagen Arteon, as they get the same number of miles per tank of gas.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). Whether you pick the Mercedes-Benz C-Class or the Volkswagen Arteon, it's going to cost you about the same. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class carries a much lower Destination Charge than the Volkswagen Arteon.

Dimensions
Since the Mercedes-Benz C-Class is much slimmer than the Volkswagen Arteon, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is slightly shorter than the Volkswagen Arteon, which may make it easier to park.

Drivetrain
With somewhat higher torque, the engine of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class transmits a bit more power to the wheels than the Volkswagen Arteon.

Handling
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class has a smaller turning radius than the Volkswagen Arteon, allowing you to more easily maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class has less horsepower than the Volkswagen Arteon, so it will probably be somewhat slower.

Utility
In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the Volkswagen Arteon. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class has significantly less cargo room than the Volkswagen Arteon, which may be a concern if you do a lot of warehouse shopping.

Warranty
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Volkswagen Arteon.
