Comparison Review

Comfort
Passengers in the back seat will be able to stretch out a lot more in the BMW 230 than the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, due to its greater head- and legroom. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the BMW 230 in the front seats.

Convenience
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class will require fewer stops at the gas station than the BMW 230, making it more convenient to drive.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). The Mercedes-Benz C-Class will definitely make more of a dent in your wallet than the BMW 230, which has a much lower MSRP. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the BMW 230 have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
Since the Mercedes-Benz C-Class is much wider than the BMW 230, finding a wide enough spot in a parking lot may be a bit more challenging. If you go with the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, you may be circling the block looking for a space large enough to park more often than with the BMW 230.

Drivetrain
With somewhat higher torque, the engine of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class transmits a bit more power to the wheels than the BMW 230.

Handling
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class has a larger turning radius than the BMW 230, making it slightly more difficult to maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
In terms of horsepower, it's basically a tie between the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the BMW 230.

Utility
In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the BMW 230. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class has significantly less cargo room than the BMW 230, which may be a concern if you do a lot of warehouse shopping.

Warranty
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the BMW 230.
