Comparison Review

Comfort
Passengers in the backseat will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Subaru Ascent than in the Lexus NX 300, due to its greater head- and legroom. The Subaru Ascent will be a hit with tall drivers and their front seat passengers, since it has greater front head- and legroom than the Lexus NX 300.

Convenience
The Subaru Ascent requires fewer stops at the gas station than the Lexus NX 300, making it more convenient to drive.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). The Lexus NX 300 is somewhat more expensive than the Subaru Ascent. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. Both the Lexus NX 300 and the Subaru Ascent have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
Since the Lexus NX 300 is much slimmer than the Subaru Ascent, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. If you go with the Lexus NX 300, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the Subaru Ascent.

Drivetrain
With its lower torque engine, the Lexus NX 300 doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Subaru Ascent.

Handling
The Lexus NX 300 has a larger turning radius than the Subaru Ascent, making it slightly more difficult to maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
In terms of towing capacity, the Subaru Ascent is clearly the choice over the Lexus NX 300 for pulling heavy loads. The Lexus NX 300 has a little less horsepower than the Subaru Ascent.

Utility
Soccer Moms beware - the Lexus NX 300 seats a lot fewer people than the Subaru Ascent. The Lexus NX 300 has significantly less cargo capacity than the Subaru Ascent.

Warranty
You'll have greater peace of mind with the more generous basic warranty of the Lexus NX 300 than that of the Subaru Ascent.
